The 2011 Austin Illustrated Calendar is now on sale at BookPeople, at the Oasis Gift Store, and through www.austinallaround.com
My deep gratitude also goes to my friend Tyler McLaughlin for his characteristically big-hearted write-up of the calendar and a few of my other recent projects on his blog: Jay Braden’s “Austin Texas Illustrated Calendar” for 2011 is now available

New items at the Austin Visitor's Center
Now available at the Austin Visitor's Center – high-quality canvas tote bags, bookmarks, and luggage tags, each adorned with the original painting yours truly created for them earlier this year (see also: April's blog entry). Each makes great gifts for visitors or friends out of town, also a great way to show your love for Austin!
The back of the bookmark describes a "slice of life" here:
"This painting, created especially for the Austin Visitor Center, captures a bright 180 degree view of the city's distinctive, rapidly-growing skyline. Bounded in front by some of Austin's best-known claims to fame: Stevie Ray Vaughan statue, the Hike and Bike trail, local music, outdoor sports and the bats at the Congress Avenue Bridge."
Available in-store only; go get 'em at the Austin Visitor's Center gift shop - (209 E 6th St. Near 6th & Brazos, and the landmark Driskill Hotel.)

Water bottle label at the Austin Visitor's Center
Presenting the new water bottle label for the Austin Visitor's Center, designed by yours truly. As summer gets closer and the mercury creeps closer to 100°, water is more and more important for Austinites... working on this caused me to take some of my weekly runs back to the Town Lake trail which is always fun (and usually hot) and one of my favorite things in downtown Austin.
Pick 'em up at the Austin Visitor's Center gift shop - 209 E 6th St., across from the Driskill Hotel.
